25 year-old Mexican forward Octavio Alarcón of HSV has won the European Golden Boot Award after finishing the season as Europe's top goalscorer with 33 goals.
Achim Essig of HSV came second with 30 goals and Panagiotis Katsikas of Werder Bremen came third with 28.
